Beschreibung: Richly decorated faience jardiniere in the style of traditional Rouen ceramics, with hand-painted polychrome decor in blue, green, yellow, and orange-red. The vessel has a wide oval body, volute handles, a plastically shaped upper rim, and small feet. On the underside, there is a blue painted Rouen mark and the numerical designation 167-5/2. The decor is based on historical ornamental motifs typical of French faience from Rouen – stylized flowers, volutes, and arabesques. The jardiniere is suitable as a prominent decoration, for floral arrangements, or as a collector's item. Condition is consistent with age and use, with minor abrasions and handling marks in places.
