Beschreibung: Decorative figurine of the Madonna and Child made of pressed glass with internal amalgam silvering, which creates a distinct mirror effect. The figure of the Virgin Mary holds the child in her arms; the drapery and details are plastically modeled and highlighted by the shiny surface. Similar items were produced as religious decorations and pilgrimage souvenirs, especially at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The surface bears minor signs of age and use; changes or disturbances to the amalgam layer may be visible in places. Suitable as a collector's item, sacred decoration, or film prop.
