Beschreibung: This exceptional collector's item originates from the renowned Royal Saxon Porcelain Manufactory in Meissen (Königlich Sächsische Porzellan-Manufaktur) and represents an allegory of Winter from the Four Seasons cycle. The sculptural group, originally designed in 1756, depicts four putti gathered around a fire on a raised plinth, executed in white porcelain with precise hand-painting in delicate pastel tones and rich gilding. On the underside, the figure is marked with blue crossed swords underglaze and an incised model number '2453'. The item is in very well-preserved condition, with the exception of minor, lightly visible damage to the toes of one foot (see photo), which is an understandable sign of age for such a delicate antique sculpture from the late 19th century.
