Beschreibung: This layered glass vase represents a sophisticated combination of two decorative techniques – precise cutting and delicate hand-painting. The body of the object consists of clear crystal glass coated with a rich blue layer, into which geometric facets and lenses are cut, revealing the transparent core. The upper circumferential band is decorated with a rich botanical motif, where the effect of depth and plasticity is achieved by a combination of engraving and subsequent hand-application of white enamel. It is this interplay of mechanical glass removal by grinding and artistic hand-painting of details that gives the object its characteristic appearance, typical of quality production from Central European glass workshops of the 20th century.
