Beschreibung: Authorial studio art glass ashtray designed by Jitka Forejtová in 1957, produced at the Borské sklo glassworks, Mstišov plant. The ashtray is made of clear glass with a characteristic blue grid decor fused beneath the glass surface and complemented by smoky toning. Two sculpturally shaped cigarette rests emphasize its elegant organic form. This model represents a typical example of Czech glass design from the 1950s, when Jitka Forejtová applied innovative technology of fusing decor into the glass mass. Thanks to its original artistic concept and high-quality studio craftsmanship, her work is among the sought-after collector's items of Czech post-war glass.
