Beschreibung: The painting depicts a small church on a hill behind the town, with a prominent tree in the foreground and a view of the landscape with other buildings in the background. Signed in the lower right corner with black pastel: OTAKAR ŠTEMBERA 1947. The number 13/150 is also present, indicating a limited edition. The painting was created in 1947. The frame is wooden, dark stained. Minor scuffs are visible on the frame. On the back of the frame, there is a partially legible handwritten inscription: 0052 28/6. Otakar Štembera (1914-1999) was born in Prague and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under Professor Blažíček. His work included landscape painting, portraits, book graphics, illustrations, theater design, and caricature. He was a co-founder of Dikobraz magazine. He spent a large part of his life connected with the Vysočina and Svitavy regions. He is known for his landscape and urban motifs, including Prague scenes (Pragensia).
