Beschreibung: A genre scene from rural life depicting the harvest in a submontane landscape. The scene includes a wayside shrine, sheaves of grain, and a harnessed horse-drawn cart loaded with hay or grain. The composition of the work forms a wide panorama with a prominent silhouette of a mountain peak in the background. Precisely depicted details of field work complete the overall picture of submontane life. The technique used is oil or gouache on artist's board or cardboard. Signature in the lower left. The work is dated 1927. The painting is set in its original ornate gilded frame with patina from the 1920s to 1930s.
