Description: This decorative hanging holy water font is made of white glazed porcelain and adorned with delicate gilding and hand-painting. The central motif is a sculptural depiction of the Infant Jesus of Prague (Bambino di Praga) with the Virgin Mary, shown in traditional richly decorated robes with royal crowns. The architectural framework of the font is formed by twisted columns on the sides, which, along with the shell-shaped basin for holy water, refer to Baroque morphology, very popular in religious folk art of the late 19th and first half of the 20th century. The back of the font is unglazed with a hanging hole, consistent with standard craftsmanship of Czech or German porcelain factories of that era. The item is in excellent condition with preserved gilding, making it a valuable collector's piece and a tasteful spiritual addition to an interior.
