Description: This pewter tankard from the Austro-Hungarian period represents a prime example of craftsmanship from around 1800. The item has undergone professional restoration, highlighting the deep relief motifs of eagles in flight and the decorative inscription in the upper and lower bands: „So unbegrenzt des Mares Flug, so viele Weisheit birgt der Krug“ (As boundless as the flight of tales, so much wisdom does this jug conceal). Inside the tankard is a functional measuring pin, which, along with the stamped mark on the exterior, served for precise liquid measurement. Its massive construction with a lid and decorated handle confirms that it is a representative piece intended for festive occasions or guild meetings.
