Description: This vase represents a prime example of traditional Czech glass art, created using the demanding technique of layered (overlay) glass, where a ruby core is masterfully covered with a layer of milky opal. Through the white surface, medallions are precisely cut, allowing the deep red tone of the underlying glass to shine through and creating a fascinating interplay of light and colors. The overall aristocratic appearance is completed by rich hand-painting with delicate floral motifs and subtle gilding, which accentuates the elegant shape of the vase with a flared rim and a stable foot.
