Description: This brass punch or bowl set from the First Republic period (late 1920s to early 1930s) represents a unique, custom-made gift with a direct connection to North Bohemian industrial history. The entire set was manufactured by the renowned German metal industry brand WÜMAK (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik), as evidenced by the clearly legible stamped mark on the hammered bottom of the tray. The set consists of a large serving vessel with a lid and side handles decorated with a sculptural relief featuring oak leaf motifs, a large round tray with a pierced edge, and glass cups with delicate cuts. The exceptional nature of the entire piece is underscored by the precise engraving on the lid of the main vessel: "ZUR VERMÄHLUNG / DIE / BEAMTENSCHAFT / DER / MÜHLIG-UNION A.G. SETTENZ" (Translation: For the wedding / from / the staff / of / Mühlig-Union A.G. Settenz). This was a luxurious wedding gift presented by the officials of the famous Max Mühlig glass concern in Řetenice near Teplice. The set is offered in authentic as-found condition with its original patina, bearing slight traces of age, and for the glass cups, 12 brass holders are available, 7 of which are complete (with glass inserts). This complete set is an extraordinary regional rarity and a magnificent collector's item for lovers of glass history and antique applied art.
