Description: This original historical military headwear of French type (kepi or kého) represents a magnificent collector's artifact from the first half of the 20th century. The cap combines a stiff black woolen body with a distinct red disc, which is adorned on top with a traditional four-branched golden knot (droune) indicating officer rank. On the front, a small embroidered badge in the form of a flaming grenade stands out, a classic symbol of French infantry, the Foreign Legion, or gendarmerie. Inside the cap, under the silk lining, the original woven label of the prestigious tailor is sewn: “MAÎTRE TAILLEUR PAUL BEYAERT”. The item is in well-preserved, authentic found condition with natural patina. Minor damage (a small tear or moth damage) is visible on the upper red disc, but this does not detract from its historical value. An ideal piece for collectors of militaria, military uniforms, or as a prop and decoration.
