Description: An extensive set of antique wooden caskets, boxes, and their parts, decorated with delicate straw marquetry – marqueterie de paille. The decoration consists of geometric ornaments, floral and figural motifs, as well as architectural vedutas, some with color-toned straw. The set includes more complete caskets as well as individual parts and fragments intended for restoration. Some items may originate from the sphere of French works associated with the production by prisoners of war during the Napoleonic Wars, while other pieces are likely from the 19th century. Condition varies, with significant losses of marquetry in places, damage, loose parts, and missing components, all as shown in photographs.
