Description: The painting depicts a winter square with the dominant town hall of Volyně in South Bohemia, Strakonice district. The work is executed in oil on board. In the lower left corner, it is signed by the artist CHALUPNA. On the back of the board is a handwritten dedication that reads: "IN MEMORY DEDICATED BY THE CZECH WOMEN'S UNION AND THE UNIFIED AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVE ČEPŘOVICE. 10. 2. 1975". This text confirms that the painting served as an official gift from the village of Čepřovice near Volyně, which definitively identifies the depicted building as the Volyně town hall. The gift was jointly presented by the Czech Women's Union and the Unified Agricultural Cooperative (JZD) Čepřovice in 1975. Such gifts were common practice at the time for honoring deserving cooperative members or departing workers in the region. The painting is set in a wooden frame that protects the work and complements its overall appearance. The item provides an authentic glimpse into regional art and social customs from the socialist period in South Bohemia. The work is suitable for collectors of regional painting, historical documents, or artifacts associated with the history of JZD and the Czech Women's Union.
