For context, it is important to note that the traditional Vietnamese garment, áo dài, is a long dress with slits on the sides, usually worn over trousers. The artwork's technique is oil on canvas. The painting is signed in the lower right corner. The surface of the work shows minor surface dirt and slight scuffs on the edges of the canvas. The reverse side of the painting reveals the original wooden stretcher frame.
