Description: A landscape motif from the French countryside, characteristic of the work of painter F. Decléry, active at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The painting depicts a rural scene with cottages, a road, and trees, which corresponds to the artist's specialization in rural scenes, views of old cottages, forest edges, and coastal landscapes. It is an oil painting on cardboard or canvas fixed to cardboard. Stylistically, the work falls within the French Post-Impressionist school. The painting technique is characterized by a distinct, visible brushwork with layers of paint in denser applications (impasto), which gives the painting plasticity. The artist masterfully works with warm light, typical of the French landscape. Signed in the lower left corner: F. Decléry 1911. The work is dated by the author to 1911. The painting is set in its original profiled, gilded Blondel frame. The frame shows minor surface abrasions and corner wear. On the back of the frame, there is a handwritten number: 5243/2.
