Description: This oil painting on canvas depicts an autumn landscape from Vysočina. Signed in the lower right corner. The impressive painting captures a poetic, gently rolling landscape, whose character refers to the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands (Českomoravská vrchovina) or the Iron Mountains (Železné hory). The scene depicts the transitional period between late summer and early autumn. The composition is dominated by a descending dirt road, leading past a typical submontane cottage with a dark wooden roof. The left edge is lined by an avenue of trees with intensely yellowed autumn foliage, while in the valley and on the opposite slopes, shades of green alternate with ocher pastures. In the background, gradual bluish ridges of hills close the horizon under a bright sky with moderate cloudiness. The work is painted in a brisk, realistic style with localized impasto color applications, typical for the Czech landscape painting school of the mid-20th century. The artist works with perspective and light, which shines through the clouds, highlighting the color contrast between the warm tones of autumn leaves and the cooler background of distant hills. The painting evokes the peaceful atmosphere of the Czech countryside. The picture is presented as a loose painter's panel without a frame. Eyelets for temporary hanging are visible on the upper edge.
