Description: A glue pot, also known as a glue boiler, is a two-part container designed for slowly heating and maintaining the temperature of animal glue. The glue pot is made of brass, and its interior space is asymmetrically divided by a partition. Traditional glue pots operated on the principle of a bain-marie, where water was poured into the outer vessel and the glue itself into the inner part. This tool was essential equipment for carpenters, restorers, and bookbinders who used animal glue as an adhesive. The metal surface shows a dark patina, characteristic of workshop tools.
