Description: A ceramic set from the Art Nouveau period, originating from the manufacturer VILLEROY & BOCH, WALLERFANGEN. The set is hand-painted with a botanical motif of alpenveilchen (cyclamen) flowers. It consists of a large wash basin and a matching water jug. The items are made of glazed earthenware (steingut), characterized by subtle blue-grey shading and the mentioned alpenveilchen decor. The underside of the basin bears the mark 238C and is also marked VILLEROY & BOCH, WALLERFANGEN. The jug is marked VILLEROY & BOCH, WALLERFANGEN on its underside.
