Description: The Pragotron C-401 from October 1988 is a Czechoslovak slave clock that kept time for decades in school hallways, offices, hospitals, and factories. This type of clock is a sought-after collector's item and an icon of socialist industrial design. The manufacturer is Pragotron n. p., Prague, Czechoslovakia. The production date is October 1988, indicated by the stamp 'X. 1988' on the label. It is a single-sided indoor square clock of type C-401. It contains a PS 100 movement, which is an electromagnetic movement with plastic gears hidden in a black casing. The operating voltage is 24 V DC. The clock frame has a square profile and is made of pressed sheet metal painted with grey hammer-effect paint. The dial is made of white lacquered sheet metal with black printed indices without numbers for optimal readability from a distance. The rear label states: 'TYP C - 401 V 24. V a X 1988'. The electrical wiring is original – we recommend checking it before connecting.
