Description: This is a technically exceptionally demanding silk interior fabric from the French manufacture PRELLE & CIE (Maison Prelle). The pattern bears the official archival name FLEURET FERRONNERIE (item code 08315). A detail of the reverse side, with long, loosely guided weft threads, demonstrates that the pattern was created by traditional quilting with colored and metallic threads on jacquard looms, not by printing. This manufacturing method is characteristic of lampas or brocade fabrics. The base consists of a fine textured weave in a natural, unbleached, or cream tone. The dominant element is a bright azure blue color (COLORIS: 002 BLEU), which outlines the contours of leaves and flower details. These are complemented by a golden bronze thread, which gives the fabric a metallic sheen and depth. The pattern consists of a small, regularly repeating motif of a blooming flower (FLEURET). These flowers are set within a geometric foliage grid, whose shape resembles historical artistic ironwork (FERRONNERIE). This style of pattern arrangement (known as an ogee pattern) is typical for Renaissance and Baroque château textiles. The delivery note indicates a grammage of 140G. The fabric is light, pliable, flowing, and very smooth to the touch. The MAISON PRELLE manufacture has preserved pattern archives since 1752 and specializes in weaving historical patterns for interiors such as Versailles, Fontainebleau, or the Louvre museum. The FLEURET FERRONNERIE pattern combines Renaissance symmetry with the delicacy of French classicism.
