Beschreibung: Wooden rosary with a Stanhope cross, at the center of which is a tiny optical lens with a microphotograph of a religious motif visible when viewed against the light. The rosary beads are strung on a metal wire, and the cross is finely carved with sculptural decor. The item dates from the first half of the 20th century, in well-preserved condition with minor signs of use commensurate with age. An interesting collector's and pilgrimage item with the typical "Stanhope" optical element.
