Beschreibung: This massive metal mortar is an authentic commemorative item from the Great War era. The central ring of the mortar's body features a prominent relief decoration with the German Iron Cross (Eisernes Kreuz), flanked on one side by the year 1914 and on the other by 1916. The mortar is equipped with two square handles for easy handling and is accompanied by its original pestle. Such items were often produced as patriotic souvenirs or cast from war spoils (e.g., artillery shells or decommissioned cannons). The surface bears a natural patina consistent with its age of over one hundred years.
