Beschreibung: This children's book from 1946 represents a wonderful post-war collectible artifact reflecting the atmosphere of liberated Czechoslovakia. The title, "Bumbulín and Cvrčínek," was written by R. Štimpl and enriched with captivating illustrations and graphic design by the prominent author Vladimír Babula. The book was published in its first edition by Nakladatelství Domov in Předmostí and printed by Česká grafická Unie in Prague in a small run of 5,000 copies. The hardback binding with a characteristic orange cloth spine and a colorful illustrated cover is in well-preserved, complete as-found condition with natural patina and slight yellowing of the paper corresponding to its age.
