Beschreibung: A glue pot, also referred to as a glue kettle or glue boiler, represents a specialized tool for working with traditional natural adhesive. This specific vessel was designed for efficient heating and maintaining the optimal temperature of hide glue, which is made from animal skin or bones. Its construction utilizes the bain-marie principle; the glue is placed into a smaller inner vessel, which is then situated within a larger vessel filled with water. This double-walled system ensures even heating of the adhesive and prevents it from burning during the process. The material of the pot is copper, known for its high thermal conductivity. The item is further complemented by a long handle, which facilitated safe handling of the vessel over a heat source, crucial for the proper preparation of glue in craft workshops.
