Beschreibung: The carpet originates from the renowned Iranian city of Kashan. Kashan carpets are globally prized for their fine weave, durability, and design. On the reverse side, there is a label with information: TEPPICH-NR. 03/1646/32-7, PROVENIENZ 59-KASCHAN, GRÖSSE .36 X .00 1,36 QM, URSPRUNGSLAND IRAN, FLORMATERIAL WOLLE. The carpet features a traditional pattern with a dominant central multi-layered medallion, from which a rich floral decor radiates. It includes Shah Abbas motifs, interwoven palmettes, leaves, and tendrils. The corners of the main field (spandrels) repeat the motifs of the central medallion. The color scheme is a classic Kashan combination of rich, deep red in the main field and a dark blue base on the main circumferential border. Details in ivory, light blue, and olive green complement the composition. The rich, multiple border precisely frames the entire field, lending the carpet depth and balanced order. The material is 100% pure wool on a fine cotton warp. The wool used in Kashan exhibits a slight natural sheen. The carpet's dimensions are 136 × 100 cm, representing an area of 1.36 m². These compact dimensions allow it to be used as a mat or a central element in a smaller parlor. A detail of the reverse side under the label shows a high knot density. The weave is regular, firm, and precise, which is typical for urban workshops in Kashan.
