Beschreibung: A hand-knotted wool carpet with a geometric tribal pattern. The composition with large segmented medallions and cassette squares on the sides refers to traditional patterns from the Caucasus region, such as Shirvan or Kuba, or Persian and Afghan tribal variations. Geometric stylization and a specific color choice give the carpet a rustic character. The main field of the carpet is defined by two connected stepped medallions in a grey-blue shade with a red cross-shaped center. The medallions are bordered and anchored in a field composed of small rectangular cassettes, known as a panel or garden pattern, each containing stylized geometric floral motifs. The color palette includes muted brick red, grey-blue, ocher, and details in olive green or white. The outer border features a light background, on which colorful eight-pointed stars, referred to as Medjid stars, rhythmically repeat. This motif is characteristic of Caucasian and Anatolian tribal carpets. A view of the reverse side demonstrates the hand-knotted origin of the weave. The knots are firm and medium-coarse, with a legible texture, reflecting village or nomadic work on horizontal or vertical looms. The material consists of pure sheep's wool with a higher pile. The carpet's pile provides durability and softness.
