Description: Two hand-colored engravings – an allegory of winter and Princess Adélaïde d’Orléans (publisher Lordereau, Paris) A set of two hand-colored prints published by the Parisian publisher Lordereau, Rue Saint-Jacques 5, in the first half of the 19th century. The first print is titled "L’Hiver" and presents a fashionable allegory of winter, dressed in the typical Parisian style of the 1830s. The second portrait depicts Adélaïde d’Orléans (Louise Marie Adélaïde Eugénie d’Orléans, 1777–1847), sister of French King Louis Philippe I. Both prints are hand-colored and set in their original wooden frames. Surface stains, soiling, and signs of age correspond to their original storage and highlight the period character of both engravings.
