Description: A pair of historic candlesticks made of patinated bronze, standing on decorative tripods ending in lion paws. The fluted shafts are decorated with sculptural lizards that wrap around the columns, and richly modeled floral and ornamental elements. The upper part is finished with a profiled dish and a tulip-shaped candle holder. The whole has a distinctly historicizing feel typical of French decorative art from the late 19th century. The surface bears a natural dark patina, with minor oxidation and traces of age and use in places. Suitable as a collector's pair, historical interior decoration, or film prop.
