Description: A collection of two old bound volumes of the Viennese specialized medical periodical Wiener Medizinal-Halle – Zeitschrift für praktische Aerzte, published in Vienna under the editorship of Dr. Ph. Markbreiter. The title page lists Wilhelm Engel, Wien, and the year 1860. The volumes contain individual issues from the first half of the 1860s, including the years 1860, 1861, and 1864. The texts focus on contemporary practical medicine, surgery, gynecology, infectious and venereal diseases, therapeutic procedures, and clinical observations. Also included is Allgemeine Militärärztliche Zeitung, a specialized journal focused on military medicine, published by the editorial board of Wiener Medizinal-Halle. Original period bindings with gilded inscriptions on the spines. Condition corresponds to age – bindings are scuffed and worn in places, paper is yellowed and stained in places, and some pages show small tears and edge damage. An interesting collection for collectors of medical history, medical prints, and 19th-century specialized literature.
