Description: This color lithograph on paper depicts a view of Prague, with the prominent Charles Bridge in the left part of the composition and the Vltava River stretching into the distance. In the background, the panorama of Prague Castle and other historic buildings of Lesser Town and Old Town are visible. The work is dated 1954, as evident from the texts on the reverse side. An illegible signature is visible in the bottom right corner. The paper shows signs of yellowing and minor stains in the lower part. The frame is wooden, profiled, with a combination of gilded and patinated surfaces, showing minor abrasions. On the reverse side, there is the original backing paper with several inscriptions and stamps. The inscriptions include: "For the evaluation of the socialist competition for the 1st half of 1954.", further "V. Svolený 12. 12. 54." and "Korytná u Uh. Brodu Veselí". Additionally, there are stamps: "JEDNOTA PŘÍPRAVA A PRODEJ ZEMĚDĚLSKÝCH VÝROBKŮ ZÁVODNÍ VÝBOR STŘ. 127 01 VLT. OPR. č. 91 00" and "STÁTNÍ STATEK KRALUPY NAD VLTAVOU J. P. P. P. R. R. Uzalé". These records refer to the origin of the work as an award from a socialist competition in 1954, likely in the agricultural sector. The work represents a historical document of the era and an artistic depiction of the Czech metropolis in the mid-20th century.
