Description: A painting featuring a map of Czechoslovakia and historical commentary from the 1938-1945 period. The work is executed using the silk print technique. The central motif is a detailed map of Czechoslovakia, complemented by heraldic elements and extensive text passages referring to the political events of the given period. The front of the painting literally transcribes the text: “THE CZECHOSLOVAK NATION, TO SAVE WORLD PEACE, SACRIFICED ITS HISTORICAL BORDERS IN 1938, WHICH NEITHER A THOUSAND YEARS NOR A HUNDRED WARS COULD CHANGE! CZECHOSLOVAKIA REGAINED ITS FREEDOM IN 1945 WITH THE HELP OF GREAT ALLIES, THE GLORIOUS RED, AMERICAN, AND ENGLISH ARMIES! MAY THE NATIONS OF THE USSR, USA, AND GREAT BRITAIN LIVE FOREVER! – TRUTH PREVAILS!–”. On the left vertical side, the publisher's mark is stated: “TISK K. BREUER DVŮR KRÁLOVÉ N.”. In the lower right corner, information about the origin is placed: “MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA”. Surrounding regions such as SASSO, SILESIA, POLAND, and AUSTRIA are marked on the map. The work reflects historical events between 1938 and 1945. The frame is wooden, with minor surface abrasions on the corners and edges. The silk print shows slight unevenness and material waving, which are characteristic of this technique. The work is presented in a simple wooden frame.
