Description: This folk pilgrimage image depicts the apparition of the Virgin Mary in Lourdes. The central motif shows the Virgin Mary standing in a grotto and Saint Bernadette kneeling. The execution combines print, perforated paper decoration, wax relief elements, and a textile backing, which is characteristic of religious objects of this type. The image is set in a wooden frame with protective glass. The upper part features the inscription “SVATÁ MARIA LOURDSKÁ” (Saint Mary of Lourdes) and the lower part the traditional invocation “ORODUJ ZA NÁS” (Pray for us). The item is dated to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries or the interwar period. The frame shows abrasions and minor material loss on the corners and edges. The surface of the image under the glass has color changes and small localized stains, typical for its age and the materials used. The reverse side was originally backed with old newspaper clippings. This devotional served as a reminder of the pilgrimage site of Lourdes and Christian motifs.
