Description: A colored copper engraving based on a painting by the English artist Richard Westall (1765–1836), depicting a romantic scene with children and a young woman discovering a bird's nest in a garden. The engraving was executed by A. Zaffonato, likely at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The work bears the English title "The Bird’s Nest" and is an example of the period's sentimental art inspired by nature and family motifs. The paper is yellowed with significant foxing; the frame is gilded, original.
