Picture – City Scene with a Gate (watercolor on paper)

ID: s41779
Category: Paintings
Subcategory: Drawing, Watercolor
Location: New store

Condition: Used

Description: The painting depicts an urban landscape with a dominant architectural element – a passage or gate, which forms the central composition of the work. On the sides of the gate, trees with intricately detailed branches are shown, adding depth and naturalness to the scene. In the foreground, silhouettes of figures are visible, enlivening the scene and suggesting daily activity. The watercolor on paper technique allows for subtle color transitions and transparency, characteristic of rendering light and shadow. The work is signed in the bottom right corner with a stylized signature. The watercolor is in stable condition, without significant stains or damage. It is mounted in a wooden frame with a gilded finish and carved ornaments. The frame shows normal wear, particularly minor scuffs on the gilding, typical for objects from the mid-20th century. The back of the work is protected by blue backing paper, which shows localized damage. This painting is suitable for collectors of fine art, those interested in urban motifs, and lovers of watercolor technique.
