Description: This cast iron iron, also known as a "sad iron," brings a piece of history from the late 19th or early 20th century. Its all-metal cast iron construction provides the robustness and durability necessary for its original function – smoothing clothes after being heated on a stove or over an open fire. Today, this historic iron is often used as an interesting decorative interior element, for example, as a stylish paperweight or a doorstop. It is also a popular collector's item, documenting the evolution of household equipment and ironing techniques.
