Description: This rustic cabinet dates from the 19th century and represents a typical example of folk furniture with distinctive hand painting. Its surface is adorned with rich floral motifs, complemented by stylized depictions of castles on the upper cornice. These motifs, characteristic of European folk painted furniture (known as peasant Baroque or Classicism), symbolized the stability and security of the home. The simplified depiction of a castle, combining basic shapes such as crenellated towers, windows, and gates, was not intended to represent a real model but rather to evoke the idea of a fortress. The painting is executed in shades of green, orange, and golden colors, which underlines its original character. The cabinet is equipped with two doors and one lower drawer, providing storage space. The castle motif was often complemented by vases full of flowers, which was meant to evoke a sense of abundance and aesthetics in the interior of rural dwellings.
