Condition: Used

Description: The painting depicts a mountain landscape with a stone bridge, under which a river flows, and a building in the background. The composition and color palette are reminiscent of works in the style of Czech landscape painting from the first half of the 20th century. The work is executed in oil on canvas. The signature R. Vormann is located in the lower right. The dating of the work falls into the first half of the 20th century. Minor abrasions and slight craquelure of the paint are visible on the canvas in places. The wooden frame with plaster shows visible abrasions and some material loss, especially on the edges. On the reverse side of the canvas is a handwritten dedication in French: "MON PETIT CADEAU POUR ARTHEZ (D'AULON) – (BROSSAY VANNES) AVEC CORDIALEMENT VOTRE AMI M. MILL", which translates to "My small gift for Arthez (from Aulon) – (Brossay Vannes) With warm regards, your friend M. Mill". This dedication suggests that the work was a personal gift for a person named Arthez, likely associated with the French localities of Aulon and Brossay Vannes.
