Description: This Persian hand-knotted rug likely originates from the Hamadan region, or possibly in the Borchelu or Karajeh style from Western Iran. Its origin is confirmed by an export label with the text E.M. CO. IRAN, NO. TEH. (021)5632480. The rug's pattern is characterized by a dominant central rosette or lozenge medallion. The all-over patterned field includes variations of the drop-medallion motif, Miri grid motif, or Boteh. The corner spandrels feature stylized floral motifs in a blue and red color combination. The wide outer border of the rug has a geometric meander pattern on a dark blue (indigo) background. The dimensions of the rug are 260 × 157 cm, as indicated on the label with the text 260 X 157. The knot density reaches approximately 32–36 knots per 10 cm horizontally and vertically, corresponding to a density of 1,000 to 1,300 knots per dm² (100,000 – 130,000 knots/m²). The pile material is wool, and the warp is cotton. The rug's structure is well-preserved, with firm finishes and overcasting. The pile is even. Dating to the second half of the 20th century, approximately between 1970 and 1990. This rug, with a beige-brown base combined with red and blue colors, is suitable for living rooms or under dining tables.
