Description: The painting captures a panorama of a mining and industrial landscape from the Walloon region, known as Pays Noir or the Black Country. The subject depicts rolling green fields and village houses with red roofs in the foreground. On the horizon, characteristic coal heaps (terril) and mining tower structures are visible under a cloudy sky, emphasizing the atmosphere of an industrial landscape. The technique used is oil on canvas. In the bottom right corner, there is a signature written in blue paint. The author's surname is of French or Walloon origin. The work is estimated to date from the first half of the 20th century, specifically the period approximately 1920–1950. The work was previously damaged and subsequently repaired. Cracks in the paint and minor surface damage are visible on the canvas. The frame is wide, gilded-bronze with plastic profiling. On the reverse side of the frame, there is the text "PASSAGE WALLON PAR LASSOIE", which translates to "Walloon Landscape by LASSOIE".
