Description: A painting depicting a genre scene with a fisherman by the river, characteristic of French landscape painting from the first half to mid-20th century. The technique is oil on canvas with a distinct surface texture. In the foreground on the right, a fisherman in a yellow coat with a rod is shown on the riverbank, with a boat on the water in the background. On the left side are rural buildings with a path and trees with autumn foliage. Near the water, a covered washhouse (lavoir) where women are washing clothes is clearly visible. In the distance on the horizon, a church tower can be seen. The signature is written in the lower left corner. The work is characterized by a traditional French genre style with an emphasis on narrating rural life and rich autumn colors. The painting is set in a simple narrow gilded frame. The canvas exhibits minor craquelure. The frame has minor abrasions.
