Description: The painting depicts a composition of two cranes (Songhe) and a pine tree, a traditional motif in Chinese and East Asian art with deep symbolism. Cranes symbolize longevity, loyalty, marital harmony, and a strong bond, while the pine tree represents steadfastness, resilience, and old age, as it remains green even in winter. The combination of pine and cranes, known as Songhe Yannian, is a traditional wish for good health, a long life, and a happy marriage. The poetic title of the scene is "Crane Feathers in an Autumn Breeze". This is a traditional Chinese ink and color painting on light golden silk, executed in a Korean-Chinese style. The technique applied is Gongbi (工筆), which is a realistic painting with detailed contours and a detailed feather-filling style, combined with a decorative background. In the left part of the painting, there is calligraphy that reads from top to bottom 鶴羽秋風 (Hè yǔ qiū fēng) – "Crane Feathers in an Autumn Breeze". Below that is the inscription 吳萍作 (Wú Píng zuò) – "Painted by Wu Ping", identifying the artist. Below the artist's name is a traditional red seal (čchao/yinzhang) with the artist's monogram. The framing dates from the 1980s to 1990s and corresponds to an export design from Hong Kong or China. The original mounting is in a natural silk fabric mat, with a frame complemented by brass corner elements. On the back of the frame is a label with the text: ENCADREMENTS F. B. ZELLER 2, RUE DES CAPUCINS 69001 LYON MADE IN HONG KONG.
