Description: Decorative sewing table by CARBOCH & GRYGAR from Teplitz (present-day Teplice). The structure consists of a cast-iron base with embossed inscriptions CARBOCH & GRYGAR in the upper arch and TEPLITZ in the lower part of the cast-iron wheel. The top is wooden. Carboch & Grygar was among the Austro-Hungarian sewing machine manufacturers of the late 19th century. On March 11, 1893, the duo Carboch & Grygar patented their own improvement to sewing machines, specifically a "drive device for the ring shuttle in double-locked stitch sewing machines". The original patent name was Antriebsvorrichtung für Ringschiffchen an Doppelsteppstichnähmaschinen. A sewing table with a cast-iron base can be used as a decorative element, a side table, or a console.
