Description: This historical electrotherapy device dates from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and was used for medical purposes in the medical practice of that time. The device is housed in a robust body with a brown glaze, bearing the embossed inscription "Fr. Hladký, Prag, Wassergasse" and marked with the Roman numeral II, referring to a Prague-based supplier or manufacturer of medical aids located in today's Vodní street in Smíchov. The device is equipped with period metal clamps and an internal mechanism that has been preserved in an authentic found condition with a distinct patina. This is a unique collector's item in the field of the history of medicine and technology, representing an interesting document of the early development of physiotherapeutic aids in the Prague environment.
