Description: This legendary German-made mechanical computing aid is a popular period calculator made of brass sheet, which operates on the principle of manually sliding internal strips using a metal stylus. The displayed side, marked 'ADDITION,' was used for summing values in nine numerical rows, with the resulting numbers mechanically appearing in the upper control windows. A unique design element is the upper metal pull tab; by pulling it upwards, the entire mechanism instantly reset and prepared for the next calculation. The device bears an authentic patina and signs of normal office use, but it is mechanically fully functional and represents an attractive collector's item from the history of mathematical and technical rarities.
