Description: This charming, hand-pressed figurine of a sitting Scottish Terrier (a "Scottie") represents a stylish example of Czechoslovakian export ceramics from the interwar period, most likely from the renowned Ditmar Urbach factory. The statuette is rendered in a typical dark brown to chocolate high-gloss glaze, which emphasizes its slightly stylized Art Deco shapes and the dog's characteristic "wobbling" stance. On the underside is a rarer export stamp in French, "Importé de la Tchécoslovaquie," confirming that this piece was intended for French-speaking markets in the 1930s or 1940s, where such figurines were immensely popular fashion accessories. Despite its age, this highly sought-after collector's item is in excellent condition with no visible cracks or chips, making it not only a beautiful decoration but also an interesting historical document of the quality of the domestic ceramic industry of that era.
