Description: Scales from the first half of the 20th century - used in pharmacy, goldsmithing, or laboratory practice for precise weighing of small substances. The scales feature an original design where the massive brass column with a balance beam and hanging pans is anchored into a metal bed on the top plate of a wooden box. The wooden box thus serves a dual function – as a sturdy base during use and as a safe transport case. A pull-out drawer with a wooden handle contains an integrated stand with holes for storing individual weights and a loose brass plate. The complete set is in authentic found condition with a natural patina of both metal and wood; the overall functionality and accuracy have not been tested. It is a very decorative technical item with historical value, suitable for a collection or as a stylish interior accessory.
