Description: Glass ''RAINBOW'' model no. 48222 Bertil Vallien, born in 1938, is one of Sweden's most renowned designers and glass artists. As a designer, he is inspired by sketching, where sketches create their own world of inspiration and ideas beget ideas. He also finds inspiration in glass itself – that it becomes a transparent vessel that displays its content and allows it to become part of the glass. Another source of inspiration is functionality. He wants to create products that invite owners to actually use them, while naturally contributing to celebrations. At the same time, he wants his creations to convey a sense of craftsmanship. Contributing to the creation of job opportunities and keeping the glassworks alive is a major driving force behind his work.
