Description: This elegant glass vase is a work by the prominent Czech glass artist Miloslav Klinger (1922–1999), who was known for his designs for Železnobrodské sklárny. Klinger studied at the Secondary School of Glassmaking in Železný Brod under the guidance of Prof. Jaroslav Brychta and Master Jan Stuchlík. After two years of practice at Josef Kleinert's glassworks, he continued his studies from 1942 at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague in the studio of Karel Štipl. In 1944, he interrupted his studies and began creating sculptures from lead furnace glass. He completed his studies in 1948 and returned to Železný Brod as a designer of glass tableware and sculptures, where he worked intermittently until 1982. The vase is characterized by clean lines and precise craftsmanship, typical of Klinger's work. It is made of clear glass with subtle toning, which adds elegance and timelessness. The vase is in very good condition with minor scratches commensurate with its age. However, these minor signs of wear do not diminish its aesthetic value. This collector's item is ideal for lovers of Czech glass art and 20th-century design.
