Description: This decorative plate of fine faience with a typically wavy rim is adorned with a charming, hand-painted floral motif, dominated by a large blooming rose surrounded by smaller flowers and leaves in shades of pink, blue, and green. A unique feature of this piece is the expertly performed repair of a crack using metal staples (known as 'wiring' or 'riveting'), which is clearly visible on both the front and back of the item. In the past, this technique was common for prized tableware, and today it paradoxically does not diminish the item's value but rather adds an authentic story and uniqueness to it. The plate shows chips around the rim and a patina commensurate with its age, making it an excellent specimen for collectors of folk art, old European ceramics, or as a decoration with an inimitable character.
